US Navy to the Rescue!

December 19, 2007

By way of Ace of Spades HQ is this story about a 14 year old girl with a burst appendix begin saved by the USS Ronald Reagan.

The 14-year-old owes her life to the men and women of the USS Ronald Reagan, one of the largest aircraft carriers in the Navy, who saved her in a mission worthy of Hollywood script.

The crew of the Dawn Princess put out an SOS, and the U.S. Navy heeded the call.

The USS Ronald Reagan was sent to helicopters which lifted the critically ill girl off the cruise ship, which did not have the facilities to deal with her condition, and to the the carrier. Emergency surgery was performed by US Navy medical personnel, saving the girls life.

Her professors should be embarressed…
