AP Rewriting History

December 2, 2008

AP is spinning like a top, and predictably to the left.
Slublog at AoSHQ points out that the AP is trying to rewrite history to make the Mortgage meltdown solely the fault of President G.W. Bush.
Slublog writes:

The article doesn’t mention Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, or the Community Reinvestment Act. It blames the crisis on lack of government regulation and too much trust in “market forces.” As Investor’s Business Daily points out, it wasn’t the Bush administration who opposed such regulation.

In 2003, Bush’s Treasury secretary, John Snow, proposed what the New York Times called “the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.” Did Democrats in Congress welcome it? Hardly.
“I do not think we are facing any kind of a crisis,” declared Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., in a response typical of those who viewed Fannie and Freddie as a party patronage machine that the GOP was trying to dismantle. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” added Sen. Thomas Carper, D-Del.

It seems the media is not content to simply cover for the Democrats for their role in causing this crisis – they’ve got to find a way to completely blame George W. Bush even if that means rewriting history.

In honor of the upcoming reign of Our Dear Leader, AP is giving up completely on Reality.

Even the Hollywood left thinks MSNBC is "completely out of control"

October 29, 2008

Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, who produced many campaign videos for the Clintons as well as several hit TV shows says that she’d “prefer a lunch date with right-leaning Fox News star Sean Hannity over left-leaning MSNBC star Keith Olbermann?”.

You have to be pretty far off the deep end of rational for a group of Hollywood liberals to accuse a “news” organization of liberal media bias.

Ms. Bloodworth-Thomason went on to say that “Democrats have been worse than Republicans as far as personal attacks on candidates are concerned.”

Could Barack Obama walk a mile in Sarah Palin’s shoes?

October 23, 2008

Forget the fact that those shoes are heels, I don’t think “The One” could put with the crap the MSM/DNC slings at Gov. Sarah Palin every day. Michael Graham doesn’t think so either.

But imagine the Democratic nominee’s day as Barack Palin Obama:

He wake up and reaches for a secret cigarette and a copy of The New York Times. Instead of the usual partisan puff pieces (“Obama Health Care Plan Pledges Miraculous Healings For All”), the Times is running exposes about his family.

Does his spouse have extremist political views? Who pays when his kids travel to Washington? And how do we know one of them isn’t really his grandkid?

Opening the editorial page Palin-Obama finds column after column filled with personal attacks and insults. Comments about his looks, how much his clothes cost, his speaking style – even suggestions that the radical teachings of his church might be a legitimate topic for discussion.

That afternoon, Palin-Obama sits down with a CNN reporter who spends the first half of the interview asking variations of the question, “How can a half-term senator with zero executive experience and no record of achievement be president? Shouldn’t you be ashamed of yourself for even running?”

“Let’s talk energy independence,” Palin-Obama asks hopefully. The reporter instead demands to know why Obama won’t release his medical records, his original birth certificate or the names of about half his contributors.

“You’re the most secretive candidate since Nixon,” the reporter insists. “And besides, the guy who plays you on ‘Saturday Night Live’ is way hotter.”

Let’s be honest, Obama, his background or his policies couldn’t handle the level of “attention” the MSM/DNC is giving Gov. Sarah Palin

The MSM’s double standard

September 3, 2008

The same liberal MSM that had be dragged kicking and screaming to cover liberal democrat Barak Obama’s minister, the Rev. Wright and his Black Theology Church, ignored the John Edwards affair until he called them to admit to it, and won’t touch the Obama connection to domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, is all over conservative Republican Gov. Sarah Palin.

Liberal democrat John Edwards’ “love child” is off limits, but so-called “mainstream media” types are asking for “paternity tests to prove paternity for her last child”

Update: John Harwood, CNBC’s chief Washington Correspondent, admitted this morning “that people who talk about bias in the mainstream press, left of center bias, are not imagining things.”

He’s probably right

September 3, 2008

Glenn Reynolds made the following comment:

HOW THEY COULD HAVE KEPT THE PALIN PREGNANCY STORY OUT OF THE PRESS: Leaked it that John Edwards was the father . . .

Yup…pretty much dead, balls on, accurate.

No diversity of thought

July 6, 2008

The “roundtable” on George Swaythepopulas’ show consists of a liberal from the Washington Post, a liberal from the New Republic, and a pair of liberals from ABC “News.”, all hosted by the liberal former communications director of the Clintons.

Iraq Progress "Astonishing"

July 3, 2008

Damn, if the German publication Der Spiegel can admit it, and that rag is so far to the left it makes make Keith “Bathtub Boy” Olbermann look like Rush, way can’t the New York Times, the Washington Post, Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid fess up?

HT to Ace.

MSNBC’s Canoe Girl is back!

June 22, 2008

The Cassandra Page points out that Michelle Kosinski is back on the air. Michelle Kosinski, as you may remember, was the MSNBC reporter who got caught staging a false new report by reporting about New Jersey flooding in a canoe. The lie was exposed when two men walked between her and the camera, showing that the water was ankle deep.

Keep that level of “professional journalism” in mind when watching MSNBC.

This sums up the problem with the DNC/MSM

June 22, 2008

Michael Yon writes in his book Moment of Truth in Iraq:

Some journalists sneered at my work. The most common criticism was that I lacked objectivity, because I called enemy fighters “terrorists” for murdering civilians, or I openly admitted that I hoped our side would win and Iraq would be free from dictatorship and terrorists.

HT to Floppy Aces, which as a good analysis of the issue.

Wouldn’t it be nice…

June 20, 2008

I won’t hold my breath for this list (courtesy of Talon):

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear Charles Gibson on ABC World News Tonight report that “the U.S. military has succeeded in clearing 50 percent of improvised explosive devices in Iraq while simultaneously improving force protection”?

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear Katie Couric on the CBS Evening News quote Maj. Marc Young, a Multi-National Force-Iraq spokesperson, saying that “With every operation Coalition Forces conduct we are further degrading and destroying the al-Qaeda in Iraq network”?

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear Brian Williams on the NBC Nightly News report that the “South Baghdad economy is booming again”?

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi [democrat] hold a press conference after these reports and thank the President for his steadfastness in leading our country in the war on terror; or maybe she could just praise the troops for the tremendous progress in Iraq?

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid [democrat] come out and say that although he really believed at the time that the war was lost, that he gratefully comes forward to say he was wrong and praise the great American military for a magnificent job?

Wouldn’t it be nice to see John Murtha [democrat] come out and apologize to the Haditha Marines for wrongly accusing them and asking for their and all Americans forgiveness?

They won’t, since all those items those liberals will never utter, are all TRUE.
They don’t fit the far hard left liberal world view though.
