Liberal Double Standards

January 17, 2010

The following is post I made to Facebook thread, promoting Pat Robertson voodoo dolls. There was much indignation at my suggestion that there be an accompanying Danny Glover doll for his assertion that the earthquake hit Haiti for crimes against Gaia.

The people of Haiti are in much more immediate danger from the sadly uniform governmental corruption that all too common in the third world than either climate change (natural or induced by human action) or the “wrath of God.” What I find disturbing is that both Robertson and Glover are using this human tragedy of Biblical Proportions (I’m using the term as a reference of scale, not to indicate any possible cause) to promote their own political/religious agendas. Was what Robertson said provocative enough to cause a great deal of people to smite him verily across the cheek with the back of their hand? Clearly so. I’m not knocking the voodoo doll idea. I’ve got a few myself and Robertson has a history of making public statements that provoke that kind of response. So does Glover, although generally with a different set of people. (The Pink Pistols probably are horked off at both, but they are a pretty broad minded group in general). One difference between Robertson and Glover is that, based on past disasters, Robertson’s group will likely be one of the first groups to get aid supplies into Haiti. After Katrina hit shore, his group got aid into the area before FEMA, the Red Cross and the state government. So while Robertson often says things that sound like someone seriously off his meds (go ahead, stick another pin in), his actions show that he remembers the Christian concept of “Hate the sin. Love the Sinner.” That puts him head of a lot of other TV preachers, such as that uber-jerk Jim Baker. That aside, both Robertson and Glover are jerks for using this human tragedy to promote their own political/religious agendas. The same holds for anyone who blames an earthquake on: the hunting of whales, communism, greed on Wall Street, the Grays or my personal favorite, the Bavarian Illuminati. You can argue the level of jerkiness, but the basic label still applies.

I expect that most leftists will not be able to see reason on this topic.

Ace correctly calls the difference between the Right & Left

July 8, 2009

Here is the money quote from really good rant.

…let us not forget an important factor: Conservativism was the no-bullshit party. If you were a liberal, there’s a whole list of pieties you were required to loudly proclaim your belief in, even if you didn’t believe them at all.

Red meat bad, green power good, everyone on welfare is a deserving soul who is out of work through no fault whatsoever of his own, and, in fact, it’s really the productive members of society who are to blame for their ills, when you think of it.

You know the litany.

Conservatives, on the other hand, had — for a while — a fairly open and dynamic and vigorous exchange of ideas, in which some ideas might be wrong, some ideas might be crazy, but few ideas were actually forbidden.

Go read the whole thing.

Obama’s massive middle class tax hike

March 16, 2009

Our Dear Leader is planning “the largest middle-class tax increase in history.”
This is a plan to tax medical benefits. As part of our Dear Leader‘s plan to socialize the medical industry here in the United States. Step one: fleece those with medical insurance to raise money to screw them.

The hypocrisy is pretty thick:

In television advertisements last fall, Mr. Obama criticized his Republican rival for the presidency, Senator John McCain of Arizona, for proposing to tax all employer-provided health benefits. The benefits have long been tax-free, regardless of how generous they are or how much an employee earns. The advertisements did not point out that Mr. McCain, in exchange, wanted to give all families a tax credit to subsidize the purchase of coverage.

Blatant, overt racism

February 25, 2009

No surprise that it is coming from the left and there will be no media outrage over it.
Two members of the extreme far left media, who have freely admitted their extremist political bias, made flat out, unequivocal racist comments about the non-white governor of Louisiana.

First it was Helen Thomas making racially charged and negative comments about “Slumdog Millionaire” in reference to the Governor, who is of Indian decent.

Then it was Chris Matthews of the “Obama Network” using racist language to describe the governor’s speech.

The only thing more outrageous than this flat out racism from members of the press is the silence of the far left who bring the charge of racism against any perceived slight against our Dear Leader.

Attention Code Pink

February 18, 2009

Our Dear Leader, Barack Hussein Obama is sending an additional 17,000 US military personnel to Afghanistan. This is just the first wave, “The new forces represent the first installment on a larger influx of U.S. forces widely expected this year.”

I except your principled, non-partisan protests to start out side the White House and the Obama’s Chicago home without delay.

Fear Mongering from the left

September 28, 2008

The Obama team keeps bring up the specter of Osama bin Laden.

Barak Hussein Obama and his followers are trying to empower someone who has been reduced to hiding in caves, afraid to go within miles of a cell phone or a satellite phone.

The bottom line is no terrorist attacks on US soil since 9/11/2001. That is “more of the same” I can deal with.

democrat women are and should be pissed off at the DNC

September 5, 2008

Liberal democrat pundit Susan Estrich (who is damn smart) is not happy about the attacks the left are making against Gov. Sarah Palen.

“Should a mother with five children, one of them a pregnant teen and another an infant with special needs, be running for vice president? The question is being much debated, in newspaper stories and columns, on blogs and Web sites, and, yes, around kitchen tables across the country. No would be asking these questions if she were a man. No one asked whether Arnold Schwarzenegger should run for governor because he has four children. They looked at Maria, his wonderful wife, and said, what a beautiful family. A mother doesn’t get the same treatment. This is how the double standard works…. If she thinks she can do it, if her husband and children support the decision, as they seem to, who are we to say otherwise? She deserves what every father running for office automatically gets: a chance to be judged fairly, based on experience and ideology, qualifications and competence, not our second-hand judgments of her most private decisions.”

Here is a heads to up any and all female liberal democrats. The DNC is ready to throw you under the bus and put feminism back 50 years in their mad raw lust for power. You are just a pawn, or as Lenin put it, “a useful idiot” in their view.

Leftie political philosophy

September 3, 2008

From a DU poster

It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not. RUMOR IS TRUTH. The modern laws of media hype and political warfare have a useful tenet: Repeat ANYTHING or raise false concern over ANYTHING and it is likely to be planted in the conscious/subconscious of many voters.

The MSM’s double standard

September 3, 2008

The same liberal MSM that had be dragged kicking and screaming to cover liberal democrat Barak Obama’s minister, the Rev. Wright and his Black Theology Church, ignored the John Edwards affair until he called them to admit to it, and won’t touch the Obama connection to domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, is all over conservative Republican Gov. Sarah Palin.

Liberal democrat John Edwards’ “love child” is off limits, but so-called “mainstream media” types are asking for “paternity tests to prove paternity for her last child”

Update: John Harwood, CNBC’s chief Washington Correspondent, admitted this morning “that people who talk about bias in the mainstream press, left of center bias, are not imagining things.”

Shifting democrat standards, Part II

August 24, 2008

In the continuing saga of shifting democrat standards, Alphecca nails their hypocrisy:

Last time ’round the Democratic nominee was John Kerry, who married into the Heinz fortune and had vacation homes all over the place. Now, Democrats are trying to demonize McCain because he married wealth and has homes all over the place. Do they have any idea how hypocritical they sound? And what the ‘eff does any of this have to do with issues people actually care about?
