Why Air America Tanked…

June 27, 2007

From a comment thread on HotAir:

My wife listens to Stephanie Miller in the morning. (Yes, I am in a mixed marriage.) SM sounds like she is trying to be Laura Ingraham, but without the talent and guests. I have never heard anyone substantial on her show. But, this is a paraphrase of one of her quotes regarding the immigration issue:

‘I don’t like to refer to them as “illegal immigrants.” Thats so dehumanizing. It’s not like they committed a crime and killed someone.’

You can’t make this stuff up.

My Comment:
The sad part is that Stephanie Miller was one of the better hosts on Err America. I used to listen to her for laughs before the format was pulled for not being able to draw enough listeners in the Boston area.

Illegal Immigration is a hot topic currently.

I was driving through town the other day and saw this.
So I had to take a picture.

Personally, I can sympathize with those who want to come to America to make a better life for themselves and their families by becoming Americans.

Those who won’t learn English, wear “Raza” t-shirts and call for the formation of Atlazan in the American Southwest, well, at the very least, they should be deported and barred from re-entry.

Damn Good Advice

June 15, 2007

Like many Americans, my recent ancestors immigrated to the United States. I’ve been to Ellis Island and seen their names. They came to America to be Americans.
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who immigrated to the US from Austria, gave some damn good advice.

“You’ve got to turn off the Spanish television set” and avoid Spanish-language television, books and newspapers, the Republican governor said Wednesday night at the annual convention of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

“You’re just forced to speak English, and that just makes you learn the language faster,” Schwarzenegger said.

“I know this sounds odd and this is the politically incorrect thing to say, and I’m going to get myself in trouble,” he said, noting that he rarely spoke German and was forced to learn English when he emigrated from Austria.

Schwarzenegger was responding to a question about how Hispanic students can improve academically.

The mounting death toll…

December 6, 2006

Over 9000 American men, women and children are killed each year by illegal aliens.

According to this report:

  • 13 Americans are killed each day by uninsured drunk driving illegals
  • 12 U.S. citizens are killed by illegal aliens each day in the commission of violent crimes

That is a yearly death toll over three times the number of US troops killed in the active war zone of Iraq since the invasion.
