Color me not surprised

September 3, 2008

Becky, over at Just a Girl in Shorts talking about Whatever, makes the following observation.

Almost all of the homophobic and misogynistic comments have come from those who are politically left of center.

She claims that “some might find [this observation] strange.”
I don’t. Those to the Right of Center tend to debate the facts and issues.
Most of the vile, personal attacks in the last decade have come from the left.
Ya sure, you can find exceptions, but as a general rule of thumb, it’s pretty damn accurate.

Becky continues:

…quite frequently liberals get downright offensive. They got me banned from Digg, and about a year ago this angry little liberal dude tried to drive me out of business, by hooking up with some kindred brats and reporting me to Google Adsense, the Huffington Post and various forums—posted nonstop vile trash (actually bordering on constitutionally unprotected pornography ) in the comment sections, and sent out tons of spam informing the blogosphere what a depraved bitch I am.

With time, that ended, but every week, at least one of these adolescent liberal brats gets into it—either by commenting here or making their witty observations on their own blog or some other forum—or just sending me a little personal nastygram.

My conservative readers will often say things like “I disagree with you only about fifty percent of the time, but…” or “I don’t always agree with you, but…” I find you intelligent, well reasoned, amusing, interesting, entertaining, etc.

But these liberal juvenile delinquents, before they leave the blog forever, will often tag the comment section with some vile intolerant remarks, along with a couple of progressive slogans or talking points.

Let’s review some recent history.

Obama supporters shut down dissenting blogs in a direct attack on the First Amendment.

Surrendercrat Cindy Sheehan had her tires slashed for daring to run against democrat House leader Nancy Pelosi.

Mary Katharine Ham tells of her personal experience with the hateful left

Why did I deserve it? Because I’m conservative, and to my liberal acquaintances, “conservative” is interchangeable with any number of fun words, like racist, homophobe, warmonger, and bigot. Even my best liberal friends have refuse to let go of these one-dimensional definitions despite the fact that a three-dimensional specimen has been disproving all of them throughout our friendship. So much for nuance.

In short, I deserved it because I’m a conservative (wink, wink, nudge, nudge.) And when you’re dealing with people as dastardly as conservatives, anything goes.

Suddenly, racism was an acceptable political tool. Jokes about Mammies and big-lipped caricatures were en vogue. Most of us got the memo that our culture deems these kind of attacks to be about as reprehensible as they get. Liberal cartoonists and commentators got that memo too. But there was no retraction from them, and not a peep from the NAACP or NOW.

Why no outrage? Because Condi deserved it. She’s a conservative, you know.

Let’s go back to the 2004 election

The tires of at least 30 cars and vans rented by the Republican Party to carry voters to the polls were slashed, Milwaukee police said this morning. The discovery was made at 6:30 a.m., said Sgt. Mark Wroblewski.

The rental cars were parked near a GOP office in the 7100 block of W. Capitol Dr. Wroblewski said “at least” 30 cars were disabled. At least one tire was slashed and in some cases, all four tires were cut. Detectives were on the scene, the sergeant said. Police had no suspects in custody as of 8 a.m.

The tire slashers turned out to be “liberal” democrats who felt that those who didn’t agree with them didn’t deserve the basic Civil Right of voting.

Also from the 2004 election

A Kerry/Edwards supports takes a Bush/Cheney sign from a 3 year old girl and tears it up. He looks pretty damn proud of himself today.

Becky strikes me as being a pretty observant person. She shouldn’t be surprised by the behavior she described by the so-called “liberals” who perform the drive by hate speech attacks on her.

Hate Crimes from the left…

April 6, 2007

No surprise here. It’s all about the hate.
The Scripps Howard News Service has the story about the huge volume of abusive and hateful calls and email leveled against those who dared Speak The Truth about the Goracle.

The Tennessee Center for Policy Research recently generated headlines when it announced that former Vice President Al Gore’s Nashville estate “devoured nearly 221,000 kilowatt-hours” of electricity in 2006, “more than 20 times the national average.”

This free-market think tank’s phones lit up when it analyzed Nashville Electric Service’s public records and identified an inconvenient gap between Gore’s conservationism and his energy consumption. The research center’s one-page press release was greeted with enough megawatts of hatred to power the South.

“I was accused several times of being a ‘stupid, redneck bitch,'” recalls Nicole Williams, who fielded numerous calls. “I repeatedly was called a ‘whore’ and asked ‘Whose whore are you?’ for three days straight, almost as if those were talking points … I was shocked by these sexist insults _ basically attacking my gender.”

The calls continued beyond Williams’ Nashville office.

“I had to change my home number and get an unlisted number,” Williams says.

“I got about 10 death threats by phone. I got the ‘I’m gonna get you’-type threats more than 100 times … I worried I would get shot walking to my car.”

Gore’s defenders also spewed venomous e-mails. They sent the research center nearly 3,000 Gore-related messages that exhibited the very bigotry the Left routinely denounces. Warning: These offensive, often-vulgar, and occasionally unschooled comments reveal the vitriol behind much of today’s “progressive” rhetoric.

_ Many e-mails displayed Dixiephobia _ an intense disdain for the South and Southerners.

“Why don’t you all go back to shooting one another across the hollows instead of trying to make people think anyone in Tennessee has an ounce of intelligence?” Roger Miller insisted. “Get your snaggle tooth grins capped and learn to read and write.”

“W.T.F. difference would it make if he was (sic) using 1000 times more energy than the average household if it came from clean energy?” Thomas Grinnell wondered. “Don’t think about that too much. It will give your southern mullet a headache.”

“You really should concentrate on what Southerners do best,” D. Hunter advised. “Sodomizing and impregnating little children!”

Christopher LaBarge declared: “I hope you all die slowly and have your hearts and brains trampled to pieces you small-minded, ignorant, backwoods ideologues.”

“We should have flattened the South when we had the chance!” wrote Mount Laurel, New Jersey’s Robert Dodelin. “If ever you confederates (sic) want to leave the Union please do. We Nothen (sic) states would love to stop having to subsidize you with our tax dollars.”

Some e-mails, like Benjamin Greuel’s, reflected anti-religious bias: “Go f_k yourselves you neo con, non-secular, bible thumpin, anti-science dumb f_-k pricks.”

Similarly, Anthony Black wrote: “You bunch of stupid hick red-necks. I am sure you are quite religious, yet you have no problem destroying His creation with pollution; and, rather than addressing that, you cast dispersions (sic) on Al Gore’s home energy use.

_”How about you have a do (sic) humanity a favor and have a stroke,” Russ Smith recommended. “You silly metrosexual twit, need some more hi-lites in your hair?”

Another gay-hater wrote: “You guys are the faggiest fags I’ve ever come across. How do you get any work done, what with all the c_k sucking and such?”

Such anti-intellectual intimidation reflects the high-octane hate that fuels so much Leftist discourse. Rather than simply argue that Johnson, Williams, and their colleagues are ecologically misguided or misinformed, these bullies call them barefoot, same-sex-loving, Winchester-wielding whores and evangel-yokels. Remember this whenever liberals crow about diversity, tolerance, and open-mindedness.

Bigotry rears its ugly head…

November 25, 2006

…in the bluest part of the blue state of California, San Francisco.
Jeff Jacoby details the Anti-Military Bigotry of the San Francisco school board.
Here are some of the highlights:

“IN THE FIRST place God made idiots,” observed Mark Twain. “This was for practice. Then he made school boards.” The San Francisco Board of Education’s 4-2 vote last week to abolish the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program, which has been active in the city’s high schools for 90 years, tends to support his view.

Why is JROTC being done away with? It isn’t for lack of interest. More than 1,600 San Francisco students currently take part in its voluntary activities. “Kids love this program as if it’s family,” notes the San Francisco Chronicle. It is “a program that students and their parents wholeheartedly support.”

Finances aren’t the problem either. Operating JROTC costs the city less than $1 million out of an annual school budget of $356 million.

Nor is the problem bad management. The Chronicle reports that “no one has offered an alternative as coherent and well-run as JROTC.”

Safety? Also not a problem. Though cadets have uniforms, they carry no weapons; the nonviolent programs emphasize leadership, self-discipline, citizenship, and teamwork. “This is where the kids feel safe,” says one JROTC instructor, retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Robert Powell.

And the problem certainly isn’t an absence of diversity. In a story on JROTC cadets at Galileo High School, Chronicle reporter Jill Tucker writes: “These students are 4-foot-10 to 6-foot-4. Athletic and disabled. College-bound and barely graduating. Gay and straight. White, black, and brown. Some leave school for large homes with ocean views. Others board buses for Bayview-Hunters Point.” Several of the students come from immigrant families. At least one is autistic.

So what is the problem with JROTC? There isn’t one. The problem is with the anti military bigotry of the school board majority and the “peace” activists who lobbied against the program on the grounds that San Francisco’s schools should not be sullied by an association with the US armed forces.

There is some sanity in the city of the newly elected Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.

To his credit, Mayor Gavin Newsom excoriated the school board last week for “disrespecting the sacrifice of men and women in uniform” and warned that killing JROTC would only accelerate the flight of city residents from the public schools. “You think this is going to help keep families in San Francisco?” he asked. “No. It’s going to hurt.”

Going to? For 1,600 kids now faced with the death of a program that infused their lives with purpose, camaraderie, and self-respect, the hurt has already begun.

It’s pretty damn obvious that the San Francisco School Board does not support Americans in the Military uniforms of the United States of America.

The left keeps on hating…

April 14, 2005

Ann Coulter writes in her latest column:

Liberals enjoy claiming that they are intellectuals, thrilled to engage in a battle of wits. This, they believe, distinguishes them from conservatives, who are religious fanatics who react with impotent rage to opposing ideas.

Then she details how this just isn’t the case. Read the whole thing.

To further support her theory that liberals are “still stuck at the intellectual level of 2-year-olds in high chairs throwing food,” let us review the following.

From Brain Terminal:

Some kind, compassionate, tolerant, pacifist New York liberal(s)* have recently taken to posting George W. Bush shooting targets–complete with simulated bullet holes penetrating various parts of the body–around town. This picture was taken on the west side of Second Avenue, between 72nd and 73rd Streets.

Despite the cartoonish look, it is a bit eerie that these posters, which implicitly advocate the assassination of a sitting U.S. president, could remain unmolested in the nation’s largest city for days on end. (No, I won’t be taking it down, since it stands as a graphic monument to the mentality of today’s left.)

One has to wonder whether we’re seeing a modern fascist movement being born before our very eyes.

Lets also note that the folks at Brain Terminal have a better knowledge of mid-20th Century history than most liberals.
I’d also like to point out that there is a big difference between a dartboard and a shooting target.
HT to Ace for finding this.

Michelle Malkin points out that “great myth of liberal tolerance” has been thoroughly exposed by liberals who would rather physically assault those who they disagree with than engage in open and honest debate.

The Washington Times makes the following point:

It is ironic that college campuses — which typically style themselves as bastions of free speech and tolerance — are increasingly the scene of intolerant, thuggish behavior. These days it is being directed at folks who don’t subscribe to the prevailing liberal orthodoxies.

Update: Confederate Yankee joins with his take on the intolerant Left.
