Communist China running true to form

July 30, 2008

Nobody who pays attention can be surprised by this:
China to censor Internet during Games

China will censor the Internet used by foreign media during the Olympics, an organising committee official confirmed Wednesday, reversing a pledge to offer complete media freedom at the games.

Controlling information and punishing those who access information the government doesn’t like is what Communists do.

This reminds me of the Kos Kiddies/DUmmies gleefully listing those they would ban from the airways and print if they gained power.

A couple of quotes.

There are gems in blog comments:

The Czeck republic has experienced 600% economic growth since they dumped communism, went to a flat tax, illiminated regulation and adopted small government… AND they have a much cleaner environment than the did under communism.

That should tell the libs somthing.

Socialism = pollution.

Victor David Hanson

How odd (or to be expected) that suddenly intelligence agencies, analysts, journalists, and terrorists themselves are attesting that al-Qaeda is in near ruins, that ideologically radical Islam is losing its appeal, and that terrorist incidents against Americans at home and abroad outside the war zones are at an all-time low—and yet few associate the radical change in fortune in Iraq as a contributory cause to our success.

A couple of comments on Casto

Erick at RedState had this to say on the murdering communist dictator:

The media, always willing to prop up a communist dictator, loves to talk about Castro’s survival. Next to Saddam Hussein’s electoral victories, it is one of the most fawning statements the media gives out to anyone.

Castro survived Eisenhower. Castro survived Kennedy. He survived Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush 41, and Clinton.

He won’t survive George W. Bush. For all you media types stopping by, let me repeat that so you can cry a little longer — Fidel Castro will not survive the reign of George W. Bush.

It is also interesting to note that there is one American politician who has had a longer run than Castro. That Klan Grand Kleegle and champion of Jim Crow democrats, Robert Byrd, king of pork barrel spending.

Code Pink’s roots really are pink!

February 4, 2008

It’s not a dye job, the so-called “peace activist” organization has its roots in anti-American Communist groups that supported every war that had Cubans and their Russian advisor’s fighting in.
Details from FrontPage Magazine:

Like any other group, Communists come in a lot of shapes, sizes and colors. This time they’re wearing pink, they’re on the nightly news, and more than anything, they want the mothers and grandmothers of America to identify with them.

If you didn’t know any better, you’d think the leaders of the women’s anti-war group Code Pink got lost on their way to the carpool line. Since October, these hot pink-clad “marching moms” have been spinning the same tale to reporters from coast to coast, the one about how concern for their families moved them to trade their oven mitts for placards and take to the streets in protest of an unjust war on Iraq.

They’ve played the part so convincingly that over the last six months, they’ve become the media darlings of war protest movement, raking in the television talk show invites and making national news when they were arrested in front of the White House. But the untold story is what they were doing before October.

Unless you travel in Marxist circles or work for the FBI or CIA, the names of the Code Pink moms may not ring a bell with you, though you’ve probably been reading news reports about their collective exploits for years. In the wake of their war against capitalism and self-determination, they’ve left a trail of anarchy and destruction that has cost property owners, corporations and consumers millions of dollars.

Naturally, they’ve toned their Marxist rhetoric down for their stint with Code Pink. Though they’ve taken great pains to differentiate themselves from the other, more radical anti-war protesters, they are one and the same. The leaders of Code Pink didn’t merely take part in the Washington and San Francisco protests that made international headlines – they also organized them. In the process, they’ve provided a rare public glimpse of the faces behind the modern, highly organized American Marxist movement. Needless to say, these women have little in common with the carpool moms of America.

At the center of Code Pink is legendary leftist organizer Medea Benjamin, the 50-year-old mother of two widely credited as a chief organizing force behind the 1999 Seattle riots in which 50,000 protesters did millions of dollars worth of property damage in their effort to shut down meetings of the World Trade Organization. In addition to Code Pink, Benjamin’s San Francisco-based human rights organization Global Exchange was the founding force for United for Peace and Justice coalition, the nexus of the anti-war protests.

The United for Peace coalition, which includes Socialist Action and the Socialist Party USA, is also led by Leslie Cagan, who has a long history of activism with the American Communist Party. If you want to know what anti-war activities United for Peace and its more radical partner, Act Now To Stop War & End Racism (ANSWER) have planned for the near future or contact information for how you can join in, you can click on the Communist World Workers Party website, one of the central grassroots clearing houses for communist organizers in the United States and around the world.

Xmas Present From Progressives: Starvation

How many poor people have progressives starved since 1917? It’s a good question and somebody should do the research and publish it.

Russia was the breadbasket of Europe until progressives seized power in that year and started instituting policies to “share the wealth.” For the next 70 years until socialism collapsed, Russia was a net importer of food always on the brink of famine. In the 1930s, Stalin instigated a calculated famine in the Ukraine to rid himself of approximately 10 million political enemies.

His crime was protected by the progressives at the New York Times and on the Pulitzer Prize Committee (they control both institutions to this day). Because soft progressives cover for hard-line progressives like Stalin, Castro and other political monsters — preferring to demonize George Bush and John Ashcroft instead — these atrocities continue.

The left’s inability to understand the most basic economic fact — that people need an incentive to produce — has caused the unnecessary deaths of tens of millions of people — mostly poor — in the last 75 years. But thanks to a politically corrupted media and educational system, their pig-headed pursuit of socialist fantasies goes on.

The Venezuela people on the murdering thug Che

December 9, 2007

By way of Transterrestrial Musings is this story:

“We do not want a monument to Che, he is not an example for our children,” said a note left at the scene of the monument shattered by six gunshots, according to El Universal newspaper.

Mr. Simberg nails it, “Given Che’s methods, taking it down with six gunshots seems appropriate.”

Ace nailing the democrat policy.

“Perhaps this will get the troop death rate up to a level the Democrats are happier with.”

Glenn Reynolds on the BBC

Because nothing says “journalistic detachment” like helping terrorists brush up on their fire-and-movement skills.

Global Village Idiot

I find it ironically amusing that “our” puritans come not from the “Moral Majority,” but from the radical secular left. Radical feminists try to take the fun out of sex; radical eco-nutters try to take the fun out of a walk in the woods; radical vegans try to take the fun out of dinner, and so forth.

Dave in Texas

Communism has certainly been working on its image over the last 20 years, hasn’t it? It’s been repackaged as the First Church of Climate Crisis and Care.

A faith-based initiative.

Bizarre bedfellows

October 19, 2007

One thing that has always puzzled me is the really bizarre relationship between hard core “Greens” and flat out Communist and Socialist Reds. Given that Communist governments routinely commit ecological atrocities on a vast scale, it makes you wonder just how sane hard cord Greens really are.

Your morning dose of reality

For all the leftie morons with Che shirts:

as far as I can tell, there is no memorial, no place of pilgrimage for the countless lives extinguished by Guevara; those accused of being “counterrevolutionary traitors,” for instance. Take this diary entry from 1957, in which Che explains how he dealt with someone suspected of being a spy in the rebel’s Sierra Maestra camp: “I ended the problem with a .32 caliber pistol, in the right side of his brain…. His belongings were now mine.”

In 2002, Cynthia Grenier read through Che’s Congo diaries and found that “the beloved revolutionary icon sounds pretty much like an old-fashioned racist…”
