About those comments

January 29, 2010

I’ve been using Haloscan for comments for years. Sadly, Haloscan is shutting down in a couple of weeks and all those comments will go away. I did export them, 2,986 snarkolicous comments in all. Hopefully I’ll find a way to import them here and at the backup site (which I need to update anyway).

Update: Ok, all the Haloscan stuff is gone. Now to get the blogger comments working again.

Ok, that was annoying

New Blogger templates wacked a lot of my side bar, and it doesn’t seem to have a way to go back. I’ll be putting stuff back over time.

I’ll try to get the good haloscan comments back this afternoon.

New addition to the blogroll

No Moss Here. It’s my tumblr blog. Google killed the old blogger API, making my favorite posting client non-functional.

Since Google made it hard to do quick and dirty posts with a simple client, I’ll now do so over at No Moss Here.

Next step, try to get the No Moss Here RSS feed to automatically show up in this blog.

Fuck you very much google

Given the reports that google had trouble transferring large blogs from blogger, I purposely didn’t transfer my 4+ year old blog.

Google decided to do it for me. How did I find out about this?
When I tried to post using Bloggar, which failed because google decided they wanted an incompatible API. When I tried to log into blogger, my only option was transfer to a google account.
