Hold on to your wallets

October 29, 2008

The “official” Obama line was that he was going to “cut taxes” for 95% of working Americans. Even the 40% who don’t pay any federal income tax! His Trillion dollars plus of new spending was going to come from taxing only those who made over $250,000 a year.

Hmmm…I don’t think the math on that ones adds up.

It seems that someone in the Obama campaign has figured out how to use a calculator, since as TigerHawk points out, the income level of those who are going to pay for the Obama plans of a Socialist America keeps dropping. Joe Biden is now saying it’s $150,000. When the Trillion plus dollars starts getting spent, it’s going to drop to everyone who earns a legal paycheck.

The democrats attack on the military has started

October 24, 2008

I called this a couple of weeks ago. It is a simple matter of ugly, leftist anti-Civil Rights history repeating itself.

The chief election official in Fairfax county, a Democrat, tossed the military absentee ballots because the absentee ballots didn’t list an address for the witness. Information for which there isn’t even a blank on the form.

HT to Rob at Say Anything.

I’m expecting an ugly bit of history to repeat itself

October 6, 2008

As that 36 year democrat resident of the Senate, Joe Biden said, “past is prologue.”
Set the wayback machine to November, 2000. The place, the state of Florida.
The Gore campaign and the DNC, while saying they wanted to “count every vote”, were sending squads of lawyers around the state to have thousands of absentee ballots sent by US Military personnel overseas thrown out on the slimmest of technicalities.

Get ready for more of that, because current polls are showing that military personnel overwhelmingly support Senator John McCain.

Barak has a bracelet too!

September 28, 2008

Barak H. Obama’s “me too” moment was one of the low points of the debate.

The fact that he had to look at the bracelet to remember the name of the solider he was supposed to be honoring.

The family of Sgt. Ryan Jopek has their own story to tell.

Madison resident Brian Jopek, the father of Ryan Jopek, the young soldier who tragically lost his life to a roadside bomb in 2006, recently said on a Wisconsin Public Radio show that his family had asked Barack Obama to stop wearing the bracelet with his son’s name on it. Yet Obama continues to do so despite the wishes of the family.

Radio host Glenn Moberg of the show “Route 51” asked Mr. Jopek, a man who believes in the efforts in Iraq and is not in favor of Obama’s positions on the war, what he and his ex-wife think of Obama continually using their son’s name on the campaign trail.

Jopek began by saying that his ex-wife was taken aback, even upset, that Obama has made the death of her son a campaign issue. Jopek says his wife gave Obama the bracelet because “she just wanted Mr. Obama to know Ryan’s name.” Jopek went on to say that “she wasn’t looking to turn it into a big media event” and “just wanted it to be something between Barack Obama and herself.” Apparently, they were all shocked it became such a big deal.

But, he also said that his ex-wife has refused further interviews on the matter and that she wanted Obama to stop wearing the reminder of her son’s sacrifice that he keeps turning into a campaign soundbyte. This begins at about 10 minutes into the radio program.

The lesson here is that Barak Obama views the members of the American Military as simple political prop. They have no other value to him.

This is just another lie the Obama campaign is trying to get the American public to swallow.

Update: It looks like the parents of Sgt. Jopek are in disagreement over Obama’s use of the bracelet in his campaign rhetoric. Sgt. Jopek’s father has one view and his ex-wife has another.
Hot Air points out:

She asked Obama to stop talking about the bracelet out of respect for the feelings of other Gold Star families who still support the war. She was afraid the issue would get exploited by anti-war groups, and apparently she doesn’t want to become the next Cindy Sheehan. Ryan’s father Brian may feel differently about his son’s sacrifice (Brian is currently stationed in Guantanamo Bay), but Brian Jopek didn’t give Obama the bracelet.

We can criticize Obama for his delivery and for forgetting Jopek’s name in that moment of the debate, but Obama didn’t disrespect Tracy Jopek’s wishes.

A reminder of just how much democrats support US Troops

Democrat Speaker of House Orders Tribute to Fallen Marines Removed.

Scott at Flopping Aces points out:

The Speaker of the House, Rep Nancy Pelosi (D) believes that it’s wrong to advocate, honor, and pay tribute to fallen American Marines.

Go read the whole thing.

It’s official, democrats really do don’t support US Troops

July 28, 2008

Here is yet another example by way of SayAnything.

No Support From Democrat Congress For Making Voting Easier For Deployed Troops

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Rep. Roy Blunt, the House Republican whip, on July 8 introduced a resolution demanding that the Defense Department better enable U.S. military personnel overseas to vote in the November elections. That act was followed by silence. Democrats normally leap on an opportunity to find fault with the Bush Pentagon. But not a single Democrat joined Blunt as a co-sponsor, and an all-Republican proposal cannot pass in the Democratic-controlled House.

Analysis by the federal Election Assistance Commission, rejecting inflated Defense Department voting claims, estimated overseas and absentee military voting for the 2006 midterm elections at a disgracefully low 5.5 percent. The quality of voting statistics is so poor that there is no way to tell how many of the slightly over 330,000 votes actually were sent in by the absentee military voters and their dependents and how many by civilian Americans living abroad—6 million all total.

Let’s review this concept. Democrats are all for making it easier for illegal aliens to vote, as well as the dead in Chicago (a solid Obama voting block), but when it comes to supporting the Civil Rights of American Military Service Men & Women, they fight against those Civil Rights.

Rob explains why the democrats are against the basic Civil Rights of US Military personnel:

Want to know why Democrats want to make it easier for ex-cons and welfare cases to vote but not deployed soldiers? Because ex-cons and welfare cases tend to vote Democrat.

Soldiers tend to vote Republican.

That’s the simple, cynical truth of it.

Remember that these are the same democrats who sent squads of hit lawyers out in Florida to deny the Civil Rights of US military personnel serving overseas, back when Al Gore was trying to steal the election in November of 2000.

Wouldn’t it be nice…

June 20, 2008

I won’t hold my breath for this list (courtesy of Talon):

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear Charles Gibson on ABC World News Tonight report that “the U.S. military has succeeded in clearing 50 percent of improvised explosive devices in Iraq while simultaneously improving force protection”?

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear Katie Couric on the CBS Evening News quote Maj. Marc Young, a Multi-National Force-Iraq spokesperson, saying that “With every operation Coalition Forces conduct we are further degrading and destroying the al-Qaeda in Iraq network”?

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear Brian Williams on the NBC Nightly News report that the “South Baghdad economy is booming again”?

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi [democrat] hold a press conference after these reports and thank the President for his steadfastness in leading our country in the war on terror; or maybe she could just praise the troops for the tremendous progress in Iraq?

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid [democrat] come out and say that although he really believed at the time that the war was lost, that he gratefully comes forward to say he was wrong and praise the great American military for a magnificent job?

Wouldn’t it be nice to see John Murtha [democrat] come out and apologize to the Haditha Marines for wrongly accusing them and asking for their and all Americans forgiveness?

They won’t, since all those items those liberals will never utter, are all TRUE.
They don’t fit the far hard left liberal world view though.

When will Obama meet with General Petraeus?

HRC’s "Daisy" ad

February 29, 2008

What makes this even more pathetic is that, while she may be more “hawkish” than Obama, the military as whole returns the loathing she feels toward it and in the general election, this ad is reason to vote for McCain over either HRC or Obama.

HT to Hot Air.

I didn’t know Obama was French…

February 28, 2008

Actually, the current French President has a bigger pair than Barak Obama shows in his his cheese eating surrender monkey video. The democrats are going to have to repeat their performance of suppressing overseas military votes, because this video will pretty much deliver that voting block to Senator McCain.
