Barak Obama isn’t a fan of the First Amendment either

September 26, 2008

Don’t expect much Freedom of Speech under an Obama regime. He is already giving a glimpse into our possible future by threating to bringing lawsuits against broadcast stations. This is to intimidate them into not running NRA sponsored ads that tell the truth about Obama’s anti-Civil Rights, Anti-Second Amendment record.

HT to Snowflakes in Hell

Update: A damn good point is raised over at Mr. Volokh’s blog.

I fear that under the Obama administration, the lawyers sending these letters will be government employees.

I’d have to say it’s a damn near certain thing.

Fact checking factcheck.org

September 24, 2008

It seems that factcheck.org got their facts wrong concerning Barak Obama’s view on one of the basic Civil Rights of Americans.

If the Brady Anti-Civil Rights folks told the truth…

June 16, 2008

…they wouldn’t have a case. The facts are against the anti-Civil/Human Rights Victim Disarmament crowd.

Alphecca has yet another example of this.
Even the BATF is calling them on fudging the numbers in order to lie to the American public.

Just ask the Pink Pistols about how they fell about the Right to Effective Self Defense and other Civil Rights.

Reality vs. "The International Community"

May 14, 2008

By way of Michael Graham comes the true words of Australian columnist Janet Albrechtsen:

“The need [of UN supporters] to paint Americans as a greedy, selfish, war-mongering superpower cannot be disturbed by facts. It matters not that, in the year before the tsunami, the US provided $2.4 billion in humanitarian relief: 40per cent of all the relief aid given to the world in 2003. Never mind that development and emergency relief rose from $10 billion during the last year of Bill Clinton’s administration to $24 billion under George W. Bush in 2003. Or that, according to a German study, Americans contribute to charities nearly seven times as much a head as Germans do. Or that, adjusted for population, American philanthropy is more than two-thirds more than British giving.

There is a teenaged immaturity about the rest of the world’s relationship with the US. Whenever a serious crisis erupts somewhere, our dependence on the US becomes obvious, and many hate the US because of it. That the hatred is irrational is beside the point.”

As one wit accurately put it, The “international community” can suck Elvis’ dead left nut.

Fake "Gun Rights Group" Supporting Obama

April 17, 2008

The Confederate Yankee points out the extreme level of flat out lies Obama supporters will go to in order to bamboozle the American people.

ABC News reports that Barack Obama has collected the endorsement of a guns rights group, the American Hunters and Shooters Association.

Actually, it is Obama’s record on firearms that is unfair to Americans, but don’t expect Ray Schoenke to know much about gun rights, even if the Daily Kos diarist is the President of the American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA).

Schoenke, a failed Democratic candidate for governor of Maryland, has donated thousands to Handgun Control, Inc, a virulent anti-gun organization that was the forerunner of Brady Campaign To Prevent Gun Violence. He has donated tens of thousands more to anti-gun Democratic politicians including Ted Kennedy.

AHSA executive director Robert Ricker has testified as a paid witness against the gun industry and consults for several anti-gun groups, and John Rosenthal, President of the AHSA Foundation, is a former member of Sarah Brady’s Handgun Control, Inc, and is leader of Stop Handgun Violence, a Massachusetts anti-gun group that has contributed to that state’s intolerant anti-gun guns.

Just as Obama’s record of claiming he is in favor of the Second Amendment even as he pushes for gun ban is dishonest, so is this endorsement from a trojan horse gun control organization masquerading as a group that respects American’s rights to life and liberty.

Lies, misdirection and hate. That is pretty much all the far left has to offer.

Tamara K. Points out that CBS makes shit up…

October 3, 2007

She nails it:

In a big story on how the “AK-47” (or semiauto guns that are shaped like AK’s, at any rate) is the favored weapon of thuggish criminal types, a big spread of confiscated crime guns shows… uh… one gun that is vaguely-AK-related.

Inserting Reality in to the Moonbat arguments

April 23, 2007

Tamara K. injects some reality into the posturing and lies of the left:

With the one-note chorus in full song, we are again treated to the phrase “the easy availability of guns“, with the subtext being that if guns were somehow less easily available, Things Like This wouldn’t happen.

I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again: Never in the history of our republic have guns been more difficult to purchase. Prior to 1968 they could be purchased through the mail.

Name a mass shooting that occurred before 1968. How many between 1969 and 1993? How about 1994 and beyond? Folks, whatever the causative variable is here, it is not the ease of purchasing a firearm. If you want to play the statistics game, mass shootings in this country have trended upwards in lockstep with the difficulty of purchasing firearms. Am I suggesting that is the cause? No, but it makes every bit as much sense (or not) as the old “easy availability of guns” saw. Go find another bus to ride, because this one isn’t going to your stop.

Liberals: Ignorant and Proud

Lawrence O’Donnell shows he doesn’t have fact one right, and seems to be rather proud of it.

Educating the media

April 22, 2007

Here are several examples of the MSM pointing out their ignorance of the subject (or just spouting the party line in willful disinformation).

Greg Pierce in the Washington Times Inside Politics column also caught the ignorance (or intentional lies) of ABC.

Scarcely three hours after Monday’s massacre at Virginia Tech, Brian Ross and Dana Hughes of ABC News posted a story on their “Blotter” blog (blogs.abcnews.com/ theblotter) implying that the expiration of a 1994 gun law was to blame.
“High-capacity ammo clips became widely available for sale when Congress failed to renew a law that banned assault weapons,” began the ABC story, which cited the “expert” opinion of Paul Helmke of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence: “When you have a weapon that can shoot off 20, 30 rounds very quickly, you’re going to have a lot more injuries.”
At the time of that report, there was no information about the weapons Cho Seung-hui used to kill his victims before committing suicide. Since then, law enforcement officials have said the mass murderer used two pistols (reportedly a 9 mm Glock and a .22-caliber Walther), but there was nothing to suggest that large-capacity magazines were involved in the crime.
“Does ABC News have an obligation to report facts, or is peddling a political agenda buttressed by lies their preferred stock in trade?” Bob Owens wrote yesterday at the Media Research Center’s blog, NewsBusters.org.
“The Ross entry states that high-capacity magazines ‘became widely available for sale when Congress failed to renew a law that banned assault weapons.’ This is a patently false statement, containing no truth at all.
“High-capacity magazines have been around for more than half a century, and the sale of high-capacity magazines has not impacted whatsoever by the 1994 Crime Bill. These magazines were freely and commercially available, both in retail stores and online, without interruption, for the 10-year life of the ban, the decades preceding it, and afterward.”
“Armed America” author Clayton E. Cramer sent an e-mail Monday night to Robert Stacy McCain of The Washington Times, pointing out another problem with the ABC News item.
“The only time that an extended magazine is going to make a difference is if someone is shooting back at you,” said Mr. Cramer, a firearms historian.
