This should not have been a suprise…

January 30, 2008

…to anyone who has been paying attention for the last few decades.
The editorial board at the Manchester Union Leader are surprised that Hillary Rodham Clinton lied to the people of New Hampshire.

COURTING VOTERS in Iowa and New Hampshire, last August Sen. Hillary Clinton signed a pledge not to “campaign or participate” in the Michigan or Florida Democratic primaries. She participated in both primaries and is campaigning in Florida. Which proves, again, that Hillary Clinton is a liar.

Clinton kept her name on the Michigan ballot when others removed theirs, she campaigned this past weekend in Florida, and she is pushing to seat Michigan and Florida delegates at the Democratic National Convention. The party stripped those states of delegates as punishment for moving up their primary dates.

“I will try to persuade my delegates to seat the delegates from Michigan and Florida,” Clinton said last week, after the New Hampshire primaries and Iowa caucuses were safely over.

Clinton coldly and knowingly lied to New Hampshire and Iowa. Her promise was not a vague statement. It was a signed pledge with a clear and unequivocal meaning.

She signed it thinking that keeping the other candidates out of Michigan and Florida was to her advantage, but knowing she would break it if that proved beneficial later on. It did, and she did.

New Hampshire voters, you were played for suckers.

That is what the Clintons do, they lie. Continuously and without remorse.
It has been their pattern their entire political life and they will continue to do so.

No Surprise Here

What did the US Congress get for the “Carbon Offsets” it paid for with taxpayer dollars? As Captain Ed points out, absolutely nothing.

No surprise to anyone paying attention.

How the left "supports the troops"

They don’t really, they just mouth the words so they don’t sound like the anti-American barbarians they really are. If you are against “war and stuff”, vote your congresscritter who votes for it out of office. Attacking the men and women in uniform who defend your right to curse them is barbaric.
Case in point, the so-called compassionate and caring far hard left extremist leftist “liberals” in Berkeley, CA who are trying to pass a new zoning law for U.S. Military recruitment offices that they admit is based on the law for porn shops.
Frankly, I’m surprised that Berkeley has such harsh laws against adult oriented businesses exercising their First Amendment rights. I guess all that “Freedom of Expression” stuff is to have adult bookstores in your neighborhood, not theirs.

Hillary’s Record

January 27, 2008

HRC keeps reminding people that she is the one with the “experience.”
Jay Tea takes us on a stroll down memory lane to review some of that so-called “experience.”

Back when Bill was Arkansas’ Attorney General (and on the cusp of becoming governor for the first time), she thought it might be fun to play the cattle futures market. So she found a friend who was an attorney for Tyson Foods and giave him $1,000 to invest. Mr. James Blair helped Hillary parlay that grand into a cool hundred grand (an incredible near-10,000 % return on her investment).

And how did he work his magic? First, by getting two of Tyson Foods’ top people to advise him (note that Tyson is a major player in actually buying and using these cattle futures, but we won’t call it “inside trading,” that would be crass). Secondly, by bundling Hillary’s money with his own and making sure that “her” money only earned profits, while “his” absorbed all the losses.

[HRC] decided to reward some of her loyal supporters by putting them in charge of the White House Travel Office. To pull this off, she had to fire the current staff. These were traditionally career employees, not political employees (some had worked there through at least four prior administrations), but that didn’t stop Hillary. To justify their mass firing, she called in the FBI and had them look for the financial improprieties she alleged against the former staffers. None ever turned up, but by then Hillary’s buddies were firmly ensconced in the office.

What we don’t need is another round of signature Clinton Culture of Corruption politics in the executive branch.

Hillary’s sleazy delegate grab

January 27, 2008

Bipartisan support on Hillary Rodham Clinton taking the sleazy low road (no surprise to anyone paying attention).
On the Right, Michelle Malkin,

It’s blue-on-blue in-fighting again over in the land of the Donkeys. Hillary Clinton posted an announcement on her campaign website today that is causing aneurysms on the Left.

Poligazette sums it up:

Hillary Clinton is now arguing that the convention should seat the delegates from Michigan and Florida that everyone agreed shouldn’t be seated. Whether that decision was right or wrong, every Democratic candidate in the race agreed not to campaign in those states because of their (too-)early primary dates, and every major candidate but Hillary withdrew their name from the Michigan ballot. Because of her massive edge in name recognition and because no advertising or debates took place in Florida, Hillary has essentially won by default in both states. Having “won” a considerable number of delegates solely because no one else contested the races, all of a sudden she is struck by the manifest unfairness of not seating the delegates — and just in time for a) a bounce in the Florida poll for sticking up for them, and b) Obama to have no chance to contest the Florida race!

On the loopy far extremist left, you have the DUmmies.

Hillary Clinton to Howard Dean: Screw you.
I do not think Hillary won Michigan fairly, since I believe she got the endorsement of Governor Granholm after Clinton fundraisers gave Granholm’s campaign a huge amount of money. Seating Michigan delegates also leaves out the many voters of Michigan who were only permitted to vote as “uncommitted”, and could not write in either Obama or Edwards.

It just reinforces the stink coming from the Clinton campaign. They do not even have to do this, as Hillary can win otherwise, but they seem to be pulling out all stops it seems. Very ugly.

Obama crushes Clinton in South Carolina

January 27, 2008

According to ABC News, Barark Obama crushed Hillary Rodham Clinton, with a record breaking heavy voter turnout, by a whopping 55% to 27%, with John “Silky Pony” Edwards trailing in his home state democrat primary with a pathetic 18%.

HRC can thank her husband Bill‘s embarrassing behavior for a large part of her crushing defeat.
Billy Jeff is downplaying Hillary’s defeat by playing the race card, yet again.

Another reporter asked what it said about Obama that it “took two people to beat him.” Clinton again passed. “That’s’ just bait, too. Jesse Jackson won South Carolina twice, in ‘84 and ‘88. And he ran a good campaign. Senator Obama’s run a good campaign here, he’s run a good campaign everywhere.”

The reference to Jackson seemed a way to downplay today’s result in a state where a majority of voters are African American.

Michelle Malkin points out that some of the poll numbers are really damaging to HRC.
Black women, who she was hoping would vote with their gender identity, voted for Obama 82-17. Obama also beat HRC in getting the votes of women overall, 61% to 39%.
Even Edwards beat HRC among white voters 39% to 36%.

In all, an embarrassing and crushing defeat for Hillary Rodham Clinton and Billy Jeff Clinton. One they will try to spin as a fluke caused by black voters daring to leave the Clinton plantation.

War Without End…

January 25, 2008

The Kosovo War is still on going.

The Kosovo war isn’t over. At the moment, Serbian ballots take precedence over bullets; democratic electoral politics are a blessing in Serbia and Kosovo, just like they are in Iraq.

But make no mistake: Sunday’s first-round 2008 presidential vote in Serbia was another battle in the Kosovo War, and it will not be the last. . . . The process has brought Vladimir Putin’s muscular Kremlin into open conflict with Germany, Great Britain, France and the United States.

HT to Mr. Reynolds, who raises an important point, “…somebody should ask Bill Clinton if this is all according to plan.”
