Here is the actual transcript of Princess Caroline‘s statement:
“And so, I, I’m an unconventional choice, I, er, understand that. I haven’t pursued the traditional path. But I think that, um, in our public life today, we, you know, are starting to see there are many ways into, to, public life and public service and it’s, uh, not as, um, all our institutions are … less, um, hierarchal then they used to be, and so, you know, I think that, you know, I bring, you know, my life experience to this and, you know, that includes, you know, um, being a mother, um I understand sort of those choices that women make that includes, uh, being a lawyer …”
Here is what the AP compressed that down to:
“I am an unconventional choice. I understand that. I haven’t pursued the traditional path. But I think that in our public life today, we’re starting to see there are many ways into public life and public service,”
Darleen points out:
In the 2 minute 16 second snippet of the grilled-cheese sandwich interview AP released, I counted 26 “you knows”. … However, the AP article gives long, coherent quotes to Caroline that are not supported by the audio segment. And certainly AP and others never “cleaned up” any of Governor Palin’s off-the-cuff remarks.
I agree with Darleen, before expecting to be anointed to the US Senate, Princess Caroline should try running for some elected office first. Such as her local PTA board, and actually show up to the meetings.
Last time ’round the Democratic nominee was John Kerry, who married into the Heinz fortune and had vacation homes all over the place. Now, Democrats are trying to demonize McCain because he married wealth and has homes all over the place. Do they have any idea how hypocritical they sound? And what the ‘eff does any of this have to do with issues people actually care about?
Under pressure from federal lawmakers concerned about high energy prices, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission proposed a rule prohibiting petroleum-market manipulation, giving the agency authority to levy fines of up to $1 million per violation a day.
Pelosi, who owns stock in CLNE, a company founded by T Boon Pickens and LIBERAL activist WR Hambrecht, stands to make MILLIONS on an $50,000 to $100,000 investment which may include anywhere from 3,000 to 22,000 shares, depending on the price she paid … Here is what is irrefutable. The company is valued at $632 MILL but if it succeed in its Proposition 10 proposal for California, it would increase its value at least tenfold and if the Pickens Plan, which calls for hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars, goes through its value could be increased a hundredfold! … Pelosi’s manipulation of the market is of a most decisive kind, she is using the excuse of “saving the planet” to refuse to allow the market, and not a central panning committee or government, to determine what kind of energy is produced where
The Dallas Morning News over the weekend profiled Fred Baron, the chairman of Sen. John Edwards’ campaign finance committees in both his 2004 and 2008 presidential campaigns.
Baron also, as you may know, has been paying significant lumps of cash to Edwards’ former mistress Rielle Hunter, and others involved in the scandal.
Baron claims Edwards knew nothing about it, and Edwards told ABC News Friday the same.
The article states that Baron is currently “raising money for nominee-to-be Barack Obama.”
One thing you should have learned about this is that the truth is just not in democrat John Edwards.
While you pay your fair share and probably plus some, here is a video that points out how rich elitist liberals avoid paying their taxes while demanding that you pay more.
A legislative proposal that was once on the fast track is suddenly dead. The Senate will not consider a plan to extract billions in extra taxes from megamillionaire hedge fund managers.
The decision by Senate majority leader Harry Reid, the Nevada Democrat, surprised many Washington insiders, who saw the plan as appealing to the spirit of class warfare that infuses the Democratic party. Liberal disappointment in Mr Reid was palpable at media outlets such as USA Today, where an editorial chastised: “The Democrats, who control Congress and claim to represent the middle and lower classes, ought to be embarrassed.”
Far from embarrassing, this episode may reflect a dawning Democratic awareness of whom they really represent. For the demographic reality is that, in America, the Democratic party is the new “party of the rich”. More and more Democrats represent areas with a high concentration of wealthy households. Using Internal Revenue Service data, the Heritage Foundation identified two categories of taxpayers – single filers with incomes of more than $100,000 and married filers with incomes of more than $200,000 – and combined them to discern where the wealthiest Americans live and who represents them.
Democrats now control the majority of the nation’s wealthiest congressional jurisdictions. More than half of the wealthiest households are concentrated in the 18 states where Democrats control both Senate seats.
This new political demography holds true in the House of Representatives, where the leadership of each party hails from different worlds. Nancy Pelosi, Democratic leader of the House of Representatives, represents one of America’s wealthiest regions. Her San Francisco district has more than 43,700 high-end households. Fewer than 7,000 households in the western Ohio district of House Republican leader John Boehner enjoy this level of affluence.
This kid was a whiny bitch and quite frankly probably wanted to get tasered. Still I’m baffled at how security rushes in to arrest and taser a douchebag to prevent him from hurling words at a liberal like John Kerry when they don’t seem terribly bothered by lefties lobbing physical objects at conservative speakers.
They’re accusing Gen. Petraeus of lying under oath. Which is ironic even if it were true, since MoveOn was founded upon the idea that the country should just “move on” from the accusations swirling around then President Bill Clinton, including the since proven allegation that he lied under oath and suborned the perjury of others. Back then the nascent leftwing outfit was all about moving on; now they’re the chief accuser. And they were defending a liar then and defaming an honorable man today.
Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards told a labor group that he would ask Americans to make a big sacrifice: their sport utility vehicles.
“I think Americans are actually willing to sacrifice,” Edwards said Tuesday during a forum held by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. “One of the things they should be asked to do is drive more fuel efficient vehicles.”
The former North Carolina senator was asked specifically if he would tell them to give up their SUVs, he said, “Yes.”
Wait, it gets better!
Edwards was asked during his appearance how he explained the contradiction of asking Americans to sacrifice while he’s living in a 28,000-square-foot (2,600-square-meter) mansion.
He said he came from nothing, worked hard all his life, has always supported workers and fought big corporations as a lawyer.
“I have no apologies whatsoever for what I’ve done with my life,” he said to loud cheers
