Yes, that Algore, who is making money hand over fist selling Eco-indulgences, while he is shoveling coal on the fires of “Global Warming”

Yes, the same fear mongering Al Gore who showed up to lecture people about “Global Warming” in a convoy consisting of a Cadillac SUV and two Lincoln Town Cars. Each with eight cylinders of carbon producing, gas guzzling, power.
Don’t forget that before he started on his “Save the Planet from Global Warming” campaign, he used his family’s big oil money to found a “Carbon Offset” company. So he’s making money hand over fist by playing on your fears.

One term Senator John Edwards, who couldn’t even carry his own state when he was part of the losing Kerry/Edwards ticket in 2004, gave his endorsement to Barak H. Obama.
In a careful calculated move to move Hillary Rodham Clinton‘s stunning 41 point victory over Obama in West Virginia off the media front page, the former trial lawyer and Gulfstream liberal made his announcement.
Clearly Edwards is trying to salvage his political career by attaching himself to Obama. My bet is that he is bucking for the VP slot.
The buzz is that Edwards will bring “white, working-class voters” to the Obama camp. A demographic Obama has not being doing well with (unlike Monica Lewinski’s ex-boyfriend’s wife). I’m not buying into that fantasy. Edwards is a creature of the hard far left extremist liberal end of the democrat party, just like Barak Hussein Obama. Getting the same nutroots worked up into a frenzy isn’t going to add to the number of votes Obama is going to need in the general election.
Just look back to the primary results from South Carolina: Obama 55%, Clinton 27%, John “Silky Pony” Edwards trailing with a pathetic 18%.
The Kentucky primary is coming up and HRC will probably beat Obama there as well.
Her campaign staff is probably happy with Edwards endorsement pick, since they don’t want that silky albatross around their necks.

To meet the added demand for aircraft storage officials are allocating “parking space” at other airports in Indonesia.

Via the Hedgehog Report comes the continuing saga of millionaire democrat John Edwards’ double standard for the Two Americas:
Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards told a labor group that he would ask Americans to make a big sacrifice: their sport utility vehicles.
“I think Americans are actually willing to sacrifice,” Edwards said Tuesday during a forum held by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. “One of the things they should be asked to do is drive more fuel efficient vehicles.”
The former North Carolina senator was asked specifically if he would tell them to give up their SUVs, he said, “Yes.”
Wait, it gets better!
Edwards was asked during his appearance how he explained the contradiction of asking Americans to sacrifice while he’s living in a 28,000-square-foot (2,600-square-meter) mansion.
He said he came from nothing, worked hard all his life, has always supported workers and fought big corporations as a lawyer.
“I have no apologies whatsoever for what I’ve done with my life,” he said to loud cheers
Dave at the Hedgehog reports suggests playing spot the SUVs parked around Edwards’ 28,000-square foot mansion. If you are in hurry, there are at least five.
Mr. Reynolds nails it, “I’ll start acting as if it’s a crisis when the people who are telling me it’s a crisis start acting as if it’s a crisis.”

Climate scold Laurie David is living it up with a new guy, enjoying sustainable water-skiing jaunts and the like (hope that boat’s a hybrid!).
A Martha Vineyard resident gives the local view of the worshiper of the Cult of Algore:
Actually, Laurie David has been creating one HUGE carbon footprint here on Martha’s Vineyard for the last 6 years. Her disgusting and ostentatious trophy building has been virtually ceaseless for about 6 years now. The trucks and pollution stop only when Mrs. Carbon Sasquatch is here for her summer vacation, making herself the center of everyone’s attention.
And I’d say the fact that I saw Laurie and her hottie but dumb building contractor, Bart Thorpe, holding hands while walking on a secluded dock to a boat yesterday, has a lot more to do with her marriage breaking up than the scratchy toilet paper she’s forced on her family. I’ve also seen Bart bicycling in front of my house with a little girl he kept calling, Romy. Bart, coincidentally, left his wife recently, too.
I met Laurie David 6 years ago. I didn’t like her then. I don’t like her now. She is the prime example of a spoiled, selfish, rich girl who says, “do what I say, not what I do”. She is a narcissist and a hypocrite to the nth degree.

Al Gore and his guests dine on nothing but the finest in endangered species.
ONLY one week after Live Earth, Al Gore’s green credentials slipped while hosting his daughter’s wedding in Beverly Hills.
Gore and his guests at the weekend ceremony dined on Chilean sea bass – arguably one of the world’s most threatened fish species.
Also known as Patagonian toothfish, the species is under pressure from illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing activities in the Southern Ocean, jeopardising the sustainability of remaining stocks.

By way of Mr. Reynolds, comes this Wall Street Journal story on how so-called “environmentalists” fight clean energy:
Al Gore has been hectoring Americans to pare back their lifestyles to fight global warming. But if Mr. Gore wants us to rethink our priorities in the face of this mother of all environmental threats, surely he has convinced his fellow greens to rethink theirs, right?
Wrong. If their opposition to the Klamath hydroelectric dams in the Pacific Northwest is any indication, the greens, it appears, are just as unwilling to sacrifice their pet causes as a Texas rancher is to sacrifice his pickup truck. If anything, the radicalization of the environmental movement is the bigger obstacle to addressing global warming than the allegedly gluttonous American way of life. . . .
These dams provide cheap, renewable energy to 70,000 homes in Oregon and California. Replacing this energy with natural gas — the cleanest fossil-fuel source — would still pump 473,000 tons of additional carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every year. This is roughly equal to the annual emissions of 102,000 cars.
Given this alternative, one would think that environmentalists would form a human shield around the dams to protect them. Instead, they have been fighting tooth-and-nail to tear them down because the dams stand in the way of migrating salmon. Environmentalists don’t even let many states, including California, count hydro as renewable. . . .
Their opposition to nuclear energy is well known. Wind power? Two years ago the Center for Biological Diversity sued California’s Altamont Pass Wind Farm for obstructing and shredding migrating birds. (“Cuisinarts of the sky” is what many greens call wind farms.) Solar? Worldwatch Institute’s Christopher Flavin has been decidedly lukewarm about solar farms because they involve placing acres of mirrors in pristine desert habitat. The Sierra Club and Wilderness Society once testified before Congress to keep California’s Mojave Desert — one of the prime solar sites in the country — off limits to all development. Geothermal energy? They are unlikely to get enviro blessings, because some of the best sites are located on protected federal lands.
